About Reed Diffusers
Reed diffusers are a fantastic way to make your home, studio, or office ( really, anywhere) smell great! No flame required!
SCENTS
Enjoy our classic candle scents* in reed diffuser form. The same oils are used as the ones in our candles so the high quality pthlatate-free scents. Our scents are created using a blend of fine fragrance oils as well as natural botanical and essential oils. All of our scents are phthalate-free. Phthalates are esters of phthalic acid which are usually added to plastics to increase flexibility and durability. For the scents to be absorbed by the reeds, they must be thinned out with a base liquid. Our base liquid is VOC-free. VOC stands for Volatile Organic Compounds which are considered harmful and reduce air quality.
*You may find your favorite scent unlisted. The oils used in those scents are too thick and do not travel through the cells in the reeds so we decided to not list those.
REEDS
Our diffusers come with natural and responsibly harvested rattan reeds that are approximately 3mm in diameter for maximum flow of your reed diffuser oil.
PRODUCTION
All of our reed diffusers are hand mixed, poured, and packaged in our 9 foot by 12 foot studio in Long Beach, California by the owner of Wilderess, Kristina. Each diffuser is made in small batches, cleaned, labeled, and prepared for shipment by hand.
USING YOUR REED DIFFUSER
So easy to use! Remove cap and insert reeds. The reeds will draw up and disperse the fragrance into the air within 24-36 hours. Safe to leave in an empty house since no flame is required! We recommend flipping the reeds once each week to refresh the fragrance and keep dust from building up and clogging the cells in the reeds. We recommend doing this over a sink and washing your hands immediately after handling the reeds. The diffuser will last approximately 2 - 3 months. To get the most out of your home fragrance, we suggest placing your reed diffuser in a place where there is movement such as an entryway or near a doorway. The movement of air will help disperse your scent. If placed near an open window, the scent may be stronger and more easily dispersed, but the liquid fragrance will be used at a faster rate.
ADJUSTING THE SCENT STRENGTH
While we provide 10 reeds, any number of reeds will work. The more reeds, the more oil is being wicked up and dispersed. If you find ten reeds create too strong of a fragrance for, say, a small space, try removing a few to adjust how much scent is being dispersed.
THE SMALL CAUTIONS WITH REED DIFFUSERS
Do not light rattan reeds. Do not ingest or put on skin. Handle with care. Fragrance oil may damage fabrics or surface finishes. These oils are not compatible with aromatherapy diffusers and humidifiers. Avoid placing your reed diffuser in direct sunlight or near a heat source which will dry the reeds out.
